My clients are public and private companies (including family businesses) from startups through middle market companies in technology, foreign and domestic manufacturing, automotive and technology service industries. Here is how I started in the family business:
I’ll never forget that phone call… I was attending college in Colorado. My father phoned and said, “I need you to come home and fix some things in the family business.” I expected to be there just a short while. My goal was to get the job done and get back to finishing my MBA. Well, three businesses and 20+ years later, I’m a serial entrepreneur, tech-savvy certified board director, and trusted advisor who loves fixing companies.
Running businesses has taught me so many valuable lessons. Some of the most memorable include:
- People run your company – treat them with respect.
- If your business isn’t growing, it’s dying.
- The right choice is never the easiest one.
My goal now is to put these and many other lessons I’ve learned to good use. There are great companies out there. Full of promise and the ability to make a huge impact on our economy. However, those business are usually lacking two things to get them to the next stage in their growth:
- Ability to scale business operations.
- Understanding of next-stage growth best practices.
